1.- Digestive System - Organs And Functions


Organs and Functions:

Mouth: The meal begins first by mouth (consists of teeth) for grinding, cutting food and make them smaller.











Pharynx: It is a tube that connects the mouth, has two functions: driving the food into the esophagus and the other duct air larynx.















Esophagus: It carries food to the stomach.













Stomach: An organ that holds food while mixing with gastric juices, decompose to transport food into the small intestine.











Small intestine: Is a long tube 6 meters breaks down food with gastric juice by the pancreas and bile.
When food enter and end with semi solid and liquid form, after passing through the organ.













Large intestine: Is a shorter tube and measures 1.5 meters. Absorbs water and decompose the waste to extract small amounts of nutrients.















Rectum: When waste they enter the rectum "send" messages to the brain that can decide whether waste can be released or not.
When released the muscles relax and will dispose its contents.
When they are not released the muscles contract and can not be eliminated.
